Forklift License VR Training

Developed a cross-platform VR/PC forklift operator training system in collaboration with Taiwan’s Industrial Safety and Health Association. This project focused on the second stage of the training program: S-curve driving practice, designed to simulate real-world forklift operation and safety procedures in an immersive virtual environment.

Trainees were required to drive the forklift forward along an S-curve route and then reverse back to the starting position after reaching the endpoint, replicating professional certification exercises used in industrial training.

Built with Unity and C#, the system integrated the HTC Vive Pro, Logitech steering wheel, and custom Arduino-based forklift control hardware. All simulator devices — including the hand brake, gear lever, and fork controls — were mounted on a portable wooden platform that could be quickly installed onto any desktop setup.

Programmed Arduino systems using the Arduino IDE to handle real-time input communication between the custom hardware and Unity, ensuring stable and responsive interaction throughout the VR training experience. Collaborated closely with artists and training specialists to create intuitive interactions that accurately reflected real industrial operating procedures.
