I participated in the XR
Hackathon held by the Ministry of
Culture. The game incorporates the IP characters Zheng Sen and Frederick Coyett from the
comic book
"Koxingaz Attack 1661" into the game.
The background of the game is set in the Qing Dynasty. Taiwan was under the rule of the Dutch East Indian Company. As the war between the Qing Dynasty and the Zheng Sen was still going on, the situation at sea was unstable.
The players play the role of a Dutch soldier. Using the characteristic of virtual reality immersion, players can experience the responsibility and pressure that a member of a trading ship has to bear.
In the game, the player drives a ship through a canyon and has to shell the pirate ” Zheng Sen ” who is attacking the trade ship. While loading the cannon, a player must catch the rhythm of the pirate’s attack to avoid having the ship attacked. When the ship is damaged, it drops goods and reduces the income from the final settlement. After the player overcomes the challenge, the trade ship will arrive at its destination to conduct trade.
